Recommended Resources for Integrating Gender Analysis and Equality in Humanitarian and Development Programs

If you are seeking resources on gender analysis or want to enhance gender equality and inclusion in your program, I highly recommend these two reports or guidelines. Impact of Typhoon Yagi and Monsoon Rains on Myanmar

In August and September 2024, a devastating series of floods hit South Asia and Southeast Asia, driven by heavy monsoon rains and Typhoon Yagi.  Myanmar and Viet Nam bore the brunt of the disaster, while Thailand, Laos, and the Philippines also suffered heavily. The floods caused widespread destruction, displacing many people and tragically taking numerous lives.  Although India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh were not directly struck by Typhoon Yagi, they also faced severe monsoon-related flooding.  These events starkly showed how vulnerable the region is to extreme weather and highlighted the urgent need for better disaster preparedness to protect people and their livelihoods in the future. The OHCA has recently released a report on the flood situation in Myanmar: https://reliefweb.int/report/myanmar/myanmar-flood-situation-report-16-september-2024   Hnin Ei Lwin
