Unveiling Global Risks: Insights from the Global Risks 2025 Report

The Global Risks Report 2025, based on the Global Risks Perception Survey 2024-2025 (GRPS), is produced by the World Economic Forum with contributions from Marsh McLennan and Zurich Insurance Group

It incorporates insights from over 900 global experts surveyed in September and October 2024, as well as input from 59 World Economic Forum colleagues and 96 experts across academia, business, government, and civil society, gathered through interviews, workshops, and community meetings held from April to November 2024.

The report stresses rising global challenges, such as economic instability, climate change, and geopolitical tensions. It warns of increasing market volatility, climate disasters, and deepening societal divisions fueled by misinformation and inequality. Figures are also presented that cover short- and long-term global risk interconnections.

It proposes an approach for governance, which could be both adaptive and collaborative, geared towards addressing these interconnected risks. Hence, this report emphasizes the urgency of coordinated global action to address escalating challenges. As key recommendations, the report highlights the need for stronger multilateral efforts to ease geopolitical tensions and promote stability, greater investments in sustainable infrastructure and policies to enhance climate resilience, and proactive measures to combat misinformation and rebuild trust in societies. Additionally, it stresses the importance of robust governance to manage emerging technological risks and the need for strategies that support economic stability, helping countries navigate financial uncertainties and drive inclusive growth.
